This weekend Louise and I went to the Landmark theaters. We saw the movie "People Like Us". It was very good. The best part of this was it actually had something blow up. The kid in the movie tosses a brick of pure Sodium into the swimming pool. And BOOOM!
I remember my high school chemistry teacher Mr Yost put a tiny sliver of sodium into a huge beaker of water. It boiled like mad. But didn't explode. As I recall, the sodium is stored in a jar full of kerosine so no air can touch the sodium. Cool stuff.
