January 31st Palm Springs Art Museums and The Amado

At the Palm Springs Architecture Museum

The Architecture Museum had a interesting show about Bauhaus.  They had examples of original Bauhaus work compared with current work.   There was a bold statement printed on a wall.

"It has never ceased to amaze me that such progressive work was produced in the 1920's and 1930's by Mies and others at the Bauhaus, but that all those years later the quality of architecture seems to have progressed so little."  Graham Phillips

There were no pictures allowed.

The Palm Springs Art Museum did allow pictures.  It was a great museum.

So good it knocked off someone shoes!
Chihuly at Palm Springs Art Museum.  He is everywhere!

In the museum's cafe there are pictures of old Hollywood stars lounging at the Racket Club.  This was a much better view of old Hollywood then is provided by the map of the stars homes sold at the Palms Spring's Visitors Center.  I am sure the map is accurate but the current residences of these homes have grown large hedges to prevent tourist gawking!
