So last night I watched the season finale for Downton Abby and a regular episode of Walking Dead. They both ended up blending into each other. Both have a baby from a dead mother with a father who is losing it. Both have car (truck) crashes. Both are basically about people trying to cope in a complex and radically changing world. Sigh...
The Game of Abbies score card got very complex. Recapping a week ago. It looked too good to be true. Tom laid a serious smack down on Lord Granthum with his "Each according to his abilities" speech. Lord Granthum invoking "This fellow in America Ponzi has a scheme to double your money!" Nice one Lord Granthum. Mathew coaching Tom in cricket. Everyone being nice or at least understanding to Thomas, I mean even Mr Bates. It ended with this gloriuous shot of Lord Granthum, Tom and Mathew heroically winning the big cricket match. It was quite the moment. So much so you just felt they couldn't let this stand. It is still a game to align oneself with the heir to the Abby and survive in the changing world of the future. What would be the point if everything is resolved.
Then in this final episode! Lord Granthum finally got it, what with his cousin "Shrimpy" Scottish Highland Castle going under. It is time to change! And then a new heir is born and WHAMO! This is what had better happen. 1. Tom needs a backbone. Get on with it man! 2. Some staff has got to go! Someone needs to spin off or start their own business. 2a Daisy takes over the her father - in - laws lease. 2b Bates and Anna start a Inn. (one so successful they move to America starting a chain of motels) 2c Alferd starts a restaurant. 3. EDITH DOES SOMETHING!
Then on the Walking Dead. Some one says "Hey maybe we should spend sometime RELOADING this empty brass." or "Hey didn't Indians make their own Arrows?"
