Went to see Les Miserable this weekend.  The movie musical version.  OK just a couple of notes to the people who sat behind us. This movie is not even slightly about the First French Revolution.  If you think the French Revolution end with Napolean who ruled as Emperor of France from 1804 to 1815.  The events of Les Miserable start in 1815 and end in the Failed 1832 June Rebellion.  Granted there are a lot of French Revolutions.  Seriourly check wikipedia it will take you the better part of a day to figure them all out.  The revolution depicted at the end of the movie is the FAILED June Rebellion of republic force against a new monarchy.  The image at the very end of the movie is not an actual event.  It is people who have died during the story fighting on in perhaps heaven?   I mean you don't see Javert up there waving a flag.  He (SPIOLER) committed suicide so more than likely the author imagines him in hell?   Anyway on the John's big score board of movies...

  1. Hey ... read about the Mexican revolutions as well ... they celebrate 3 Independence Days ... and that one the stores do up big in the U.S. ... Cinco de Mayo ... that isn't even the important one .... Glad to see 007 is still at the top (makes the rest of us want to see it even more ... KO says we have to see the 2nd Craig Bond movie first). It was another MST3K weekend at our house (fortunately, oops) I missed it. My boss is currently not shaving (skin sensitivities) ... I tell him he looks just like Sean Connery, that I feel like I'm working with James Bond every day ... his wife says he looks like a drunken sailor!
