Louise and I took her mother to see the movie "The Odd Life of Timothy Green". We really like this movie. I was struck by how similar it was to an old Cary Grant movie "Penny Serenade". However, in "Penny Serenade" the childless couple raises and little girl in this movie they raise a little boy. But the other changes would give it away so, enough said.
The other interesting thing about the movie is it was partially written and produced by Ahmet Zappa. He is one of Frank Zappa's sons. I thought this was pretty interesting. Well worth the search on IMDb.
We all like the movie. I thought it felt like there were several scenes that had ended up on the cutting room floor, so it would be worth it to buy it on DVD to get the extra scenes.
So after the movie we walked around the Cherry Creek Maul. Wow, there is no recession inside the Cherry Creek Maul. I didn't realize so many jewelry stores could be in one place. Not to mention the shoe and purse stores. Why would any one pay $500 dollars for a purse? or shoes? And those are for MEN! I could bring my self to look at the price of woman's purses and shoes.
Sunday we took Bingo for a long walk in the park. That help put the world back into perspective.
Back in '09, during that "big recession" .. I used to think the same thing ... how can there be so many people at the mall, and so many things for sale, if we're in a recession .... it never made sense. Have you read "The Film Club"?
ReplyDeleteNo I haven't read the "The Film Club". What is it about?
